What's New
VICTORY! It has been years in the making, and it feels that much better for all of the phone calls, financial support, emails, and hard work that all of us have put in to make the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative a reality for Massachusetts. We won.

Gov. Patrick rejoined Massachusetts into RGGI, and in a big way. Now, Massachusetts joins 8 other states in taking on what Al Gore calls the biggest environmental problem of our time. By signing RGGI, Gov. Patrick not only helped to protect our climate, but also ensured the most cost-effective and deepest greenhouse gas emission cuts by committing to auctioning off 100 percent of the pollution permits – preventing windfall profits for polluters. When Gov. Patrick put his pen to the page, it was a tremendous victory for all of us, and a great step toward a safer climate future.

How You Can Help
Please call Governor Patrick and thank him for signing RGGI and protecting the environment and rate-payers. You can contact him at: (617) 725-4005

Brief Summary
More and more people in New England are concerned about what global warming will mean for our coastline, our seasons and the health and well-being of future generations. We can do something to solve global warming, and we owe it to our children to act now. Last year, when Gov. Romney had a chance to join the other Northeast states in a cooperative agreement to cut our state’s global warming pollution, he backed out at the last minute. Worse, he is also trying to gut existing limits on global warming pollution from the Filthy Five power plants. Fortunately, it’s not too late to reverse his short-sighted decision. That’s why we’re asking for your help in passing the Global Warming Bill.
