More voices, more votes
With our
old burdensome 20-day voter registration deadline -- which says you can't vote
on Nov. 4 if you didn't register by Oct. 17 -- we're basically guaranteeing that
thousands of eligible voters will get left out. The harder it is to
participate, the less of us will turn out to the polls.
That's
why we're pushing for Massachusetts
to adopt Election Day Registration -- a common-sense reform that could mean an
extra 100,000 or more voters at the polls on Election Day 2008. But first,
we need to break through the bottleneck in the Massachusetts Senate -- and we
need to do it quick for this to happen in time.
Please ask your senator to make it easier for us to make our voices heard on election day by putting Election Day Registration in place.
